Report: Falcons Looking at Center
According to Scout.com, the Falcons are planning to visit with Baylor center J.D. Walton before the NFL Draft.
Walton, 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, was a steady contributor on the Bears line after transferring from Arizona State. He was also among the top performers in maneuverability drills at the Combine, particularly the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle run.
Atlanta returns every starter along the offensive [...]

In talking with Cecil Lammey of DraftGuys.com — one of a small army of draft gurus and reporters that descended on Senior Bowl practice this week — the idea of consistency was reinforced.
With most NFL teams forming opinions on college players well before the All-Star/pre-draft season, these days of practice are used for equal parts [...]

I spent much of last night working in the rain. Outdoors.
@FalconsGrounds offered some solid advice to keep the yard at the Moore house in top shape: Plenty of sand in the bare patches and plenty of fertilizer (best applied during rain or before a shower).
It was a refreshing experience, though I’m a little concerned my [...]

Report: Winborn Agrees to Terms
UPDATE: ProFootballTalk.com reported Friday earlier stories of Winborn “agreeing to terms” were, perhaps, premature. Click here for more.
Scout.com report the Falcons have agreed to terms with free agent linebacker Jamie Winborn. It’s a one-year deal, according to the report.
The former Vanderbilt standout has spent time with the 49ers, Buccaneers, Jaguars and Broncos during his nine-year [...]

Editor’s Cap on…
Get ready for another change in the NFL Draft format though, for now, I can’t think many more adjustments are on the horizon.
The 2010 first round will be shown on Thursday, April 22 in prime time (7:30 p.m. ET). Rounds two and three will be on Friday night and the rest of the [...]

I have a confession to make.
It’s been close to two years since I moved to Atlanta and there are many area attractions and eateries I haven’t visited.
That changes this weekend.
A buddy and I plan to find some of the hidden gems of this great city and get in some rare, offseason relaxation.
Suggestions? Leave them below.
But [...]

Random thoughts from the back porch on the Monday after the NFL Draft…
It was a long but productive weekend for the Falcons. Now, we all take a few breaths and get ready for the difficult tasks ahead.
I chose to get a few extra hours of sleep this morning and blog from the back patio at [...]

My father has always been an early riser.
I remember stumbling into the living room as a child on Sunday morning to find him wide awake, second cup of coffee in hand, watching some old movie on AMC or a Dirty Harry marathon.
I thought he was crazy.
He always said the early morning was the best time [...]

Working from home today and expecting a visit from a home repair guru. His mission, should he choose to accept it, is to take a look at a leaky spot in the roof.
I can write — or report — on roof repair but climbing around on top of a house and evaluating and/or fixing problems [...]
