Lunch Break: Signal Caller Summary
BLOGGER’S NOTE: Kicking off a new semi-regular series called “Lunch Break” where you’ll be able to nibble on some quick morsels and thoughts while you nibble on a midday snack. It may be a poll. It may be a video. It may be some ramblings. But, for the next few days, it’s a look at the Falcons [...]

Finishing a Playoff Picture
The Falcons (7-7) were eliminated from playoff contention with the Cowboys upset win over the Saints Saturday night. The team responded with a character-filled victory over the playoff-hopeful New York Jets.
The next two games down’t offer a chance to be much of a spoiler but they do give Atlanta a chance to post a back-to-back [...]

Falcons: No Rear View Mirror
Maybe it’s something in the water in Flowery Branch, but Falcons players interviewed Wednesday appeared upbeat, focused and ready to “shock the world” Sunday when the undefeated Saints come to town.
Sure, they were asked about Sunday’s lopsided defeat the Eagles and playoff chances that, though existent, remain statistically thin. But when it came time to talk [...]

Birdseed: December 8, 2009
The average NFL football game takes about three hours start to finish.
It takes a little longer to dissect the outcome.
Atlanta’s 34-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles is fading out of the Falcons rear-view mirror, but there’s still talk about the meltdown and what it could mean for the team’s playoff chances… In the outside world.
But [...]

Smith, Falcons Keep the Faith
It’s a common sense statement after a severe beating and dwindling playoff chances, but it had to be said.
After several questions regarding the immediate future of his team Monday, Head Coach Mike Smith summed up the feeling in the locker room.
“The sky is not falling,” he said, adding his team was beat in all phases [...]
