Finishing a Playoff Picture
The Falcons (7-7) were eliminated from playoff contention with the Cowboys upset win over the Saints Saturday night. The team responded with a character-filled victory over the playoff-hopeful New York Jets.
The next two games down’t offer a chance to be much of a spoiler but they do give Atlanta a chance to post a back-to-back [...]

Time for a little behind-the-scenes info…
Each week NFL teams and their public relations departments schedule conference calls or production meetings between key coaches and players and members of the broadcast crew.

Week 9 Television Notes
It seems like a month since the Falcons last played in the Georgia Dome. In fact, the span between an Oct. 18 victory over the Chicago Bears and Sunday’s game against the Redskins is exactly 21 days.
And the road games between weren’t too kind to the Falcons.
In a blink the Falcons went from 4-1 to [...]

Birdseed: September 29, 2009
Looking through some Birdseed possibilities while thinking about the Falcons’ place in the universe…
A frustrating side effect of the NFL bye week has appeared in Flowery Branch. Well, at least it’s focused its attention on the Falcons practice facility.
In case you’ve lived in a cave for the past week, the Falcons lost a Week 3 [...]

Look at a Surprising Stat
“We didn’t play our best. It was not the type effort we needed to go into a hostile environment and win.” – Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith
Well, that pretty much sums it up. But let’s see what else Smitty had to say about Sunday’s loss at New England…
Smith came prepared — as he does each [...]
Birdseed: September 28, 2009
Tom Brady thew for 277 yards and a touchdown and the Falcons did not record a quarterback sack for the first time this season.
Atlanta lost to New England, 26-10 Sunday in Foxborough, Mass.
It’s a simple correlation the most novice of football fans can make.
With time to survey the field and throw, Brady found nine different [...]
