Report: A Brandon Graham Sighting
It’s taken almost the entire pre-draft process, but we have a report that Brandon Graham — one of the mock draft favorites for the Falcons with the No. 19 pick — visited with Atlanta personnel.
According to the National Football Post, Graham has met with the Falcons and a host of other teams.
Graham turned heads at [...]

Report: Workouts Picking up for Falcons
The NFL Draft begins a week from Thursday and the reports of pre-draft workouts and visits are starting to grow in frequency.
According to Scout.com, the Falcons hosted Alabama cornerback/return man Javier Arenas.
According to the National Football Post, the team plans to work out Michigan punter Zoltan Mesko.
And, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons took [...]

NFL Network: State of the Falcons
Another day, another expert saying the Falcons need to look at defense in the NFL Draft.
Haven’t we heard this before?
A year after selecting franchise quarterback Matt Ryan and left tackle Sam Baker in the first round, Atlanta looked toward defense — selecting all but one player on that side of the ball in 2009.
Should we [...]

2010 Mock Draft: Version 1.0
In 2009 I thought it a good idea to come up with a mock NFL Draft.
Nothing crazy… Just my thoughts on the first round with particular attention paid to the Falcons and players that may be available and fit a need. For that reason, the look changed from week to week as I introduced more [...]

Cornering the Corner Market
Given his consistent play at Boise State and probable first-round NFL Draft status, it seems implausible cornerback Kyle Wilson wasn’t heavily recruited out of high school.
His family sent tape around the country in hopes a call would come, especially from Rutgers — his hometown school.
I sent the tape to the top 50 schools,” Wilson said [...]

Is Graham a Linebacker or Lineman?
Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham was questioned at length Saturday about his position in the NFL: 3-4 linebacker or 4-3 defensive end?
Maybe it’s because of comparisons to LaMarr Woodley, another Michigan defensive end who switched to linebacker when he arrived in Steelers camp.
“I get compared to him a lot,” Graham said. “That was somebody who [...]

Quick Chat with Daniel Cox
First things first at this Scouting Combine: a one-on-one with Examiner.com’s Daniel Cox.
Cox is part of a small, but passionate, Atlanta media group on the ground in Indianapolis to cover the Falcons and preview some of the prospects available in the 2010 NFL Draft.
It’s a focused, but complicated mission.
Cox is keeping an eye on defensive [...]

Some Combine Interview Prep
A man learns a thing or two when he’s forced to hang around Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport for a 3 hour, 44 minute flight delay.
First, spending enough time in an airport will result in at least two celebrity look-alike sightings. I saw one man who could be the modern-day version of John Lennon (complete with glasses) [...]

Off to Indianapolis!
This afternoon Falcons personnel start flocking to Indianapolis for the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine. They travel in waves, with scouts and player executives arriving with the first group of players for interviews and testing while position coaches hit the ground in time to meet with players and watch workouts.
In many ways, it’s a logistical marvel.
But [...]
