What to Watch at Mini Camp
In just more than two hours the Falcons take the field for the first real “practice” of 2010 — a mini camp workout in Flowery Branch to knock off some rust and start laying the foundation for the pre- and regular-season.
It’s easy to jump to conclusions with the first snaps on mini camp Friday but [...]

The Dimitroff Media Tour
General Manager Thomas Dimitroff’s post-draft media junket continues.
The Falcons chief player executive went on air three times Wednesday (680, ESPN Radio and Sirius NFL) and twice Tuesday morning to discuss his team’s move in the NFL Draft and goals for the future.
Tuesday on The Rude Awakening (680), Dimitroff touched again on his excitement for the [...]

Bringing it All Together
Given his webcam interview before joining the organization it’s little surprise that, at the end of the the Falcons portion of the 2010 NFL Draft, General Manager Thomas Dimitroff turned to his computer and technology tools.
On the screen, he showed Falcons Owner and CEO Arthur Blank all the variables, scenarios and plans his team constructed [...]

Atlanta Selects Schillinger in Sixth
Atlanta used its last pick (baring a trade) in the 2010 NFL Draft to select Montana safety Shann Schillinger. He was selected in the sixth round (171st overall).
Schillinger is a former college teammate of third-year Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann.
According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Schillinger “left an impression” with 11 NFL teams that attended [...]

Talking Draft with T.D.
General Manager Thomas Dimitroff insists the shirt and tie he sported Thursday afternoon isn’t his usual pre-draft attire.
He’s a hard-working man that prefers comfortable clothes for the long hours of research and planning. As expected, he’s spending nights at the office leading up to next week’s NFL Draft.
“We’ve been working on these players for almost [...]

2010 Mock Draft: Version 1.0
In 2009 I thought it a good idea to come up with a mock NFL Draft.
Nothing crazy… Just my thoughts on the first round with particular attention paid to the Falcons and players that may be available and fit a need. For that reason, the look changed from week to week as I introduced more [...]

Your Questions… Answered
Think the Dunta Robinson signing just cleared up some of the mystery concerning the Falcons secondary in 2010?
Think again.
Though cliche, picking up Robinson opens several options for the Falcons in the upcoming NFL Draft and allows the team to really take advantage of its strengths — younger players who got valuable playing time in 2009.
The [...]

Birdseed: March 15, 2010
We’re in the midst of one of the most interesting periods of the NFL calendar.
The free agent signing period is more than week old. The big-splash acquisitions (see Robinson-comma-Dunta) are out of the way and the slow, day-to-day debate on second-level players has taken shape.
Too early for concrete news on the NFL Draft but [...]
