Turner Ready for Workouts
Falcons running back Michael Turner, who missed five games with an ankle sprain in 2009, said Monday he’ll be ready to hit the field for mini camp and other offseason practices.

Durham Talks Falcons, Draft, Tech
Voice of the Falcons Wes Durham made an appearance on NFL Network Wednesday evening to talk about (what else) Atlanta football. He spoke at length about the team’s struggles — and victories — from 2009 on its way to snapping a 44-year streak without back-to-back winning seasons.
Durham said Matt Ryan’s dip in numbers from 2008 [...]

Jerry “On Schedule” in Rehab
Peria Jerry’s torn knee ligament in Week 2 did more than end his season. It rocked the team’s defensive tackle rotation and hurt the pass rush — something the Falcons lacked at points for the rest of the 2009 campaign.
But Jerry is making progress in his recovery and has been a regular in team’s Flowery [...]

Examining the Injury Report
With the final game of the season rapidly approaching, the Falcons hit the field for practice Wednesday afternoon just before a rare mix of wintery weather, mostly sleet, found its way to Flowery Branch.
Thankfully no one slipped on any ice.
That would be a frustrating addition to an already lengthy injury report that includes the team’s punter [...]

Birdseed: December 28, 2009
When No. 3 receiver Harry Douglas tore an ACL in training camp and was lost for the season, Falcons fans — rightful so — started to worry a bit about the offense.
Douglas was a key part of the team’s attack as a rookie and, with a Pro Bowler at tight end in 2009, figured to [...]

Falcons Hold Ryan Out of Practice
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan did not practice Wednesday afternoon.
The second-year signal caller played for the first time in two games in Sunday’s victory over the Jets but, according to Head Coach Mike Smith, the team is taking extra precautions as it prepares for a Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills.
“We had anticipated if he [...]

Brock Promoted to 53 Man Roster
As expected, the Falcons placed safety Antoine Harris on injured reserve Tuesday afternoon and replaced his spot on the 53-man roster with practice squad player Eric Brock.
Head Coach Mike Smith said Harris tore a PCL in Week 15 against the Jets. This season, the Louisville product recorded three special teams tackles (10 games). Nicknamed “Toolbox” [...]

Harris Heading to Injured Reserve
Head Coach Mike Smith confirmed Monday afternoon defensive back and special teams ace Antoine Harris is on his way to injured reserve. Harris tore a PCL in his knee in Sunday’s victory over the New York Jets.

Turner Misses Practice, Getting Healthy
Running back Michael Turner (ankle) said Wednesday morning he wasn’t practicing with the team on the first preparation day for the New York Jets but that he would run on a side field and continue an increased load of rehab.
“I’m doing all right (and) getting better,” Turner said.
When asked if he’ll play Sunday, Turner didn’t [...]
