2010 Mock Draft: Version 2.0
I’ve made further adjustments in the second attempt at a mock draft this year, forming opinions off what I’m reading in various mocks from around the Internet while keeping an eye on the plethora of players the Falcons may consider at No. 19.
Again, keep in mind the Falcons pick changes each [...]

All Defense? Not So Fast…
Head Coach Mike Smith said Friday his team will look at both sides of the ball, even if the media expects another defensive-heavy draft.
“We’ve got a number of areas that we have to address,” Smith said. “In Year One our draft was more titled toward the offensive side of the ball. In Year Two [...]

Birdseed: February 17, 2010
It’s been almost two weeks since the Super Bowl and — much to the joy of some ad executives — one commercial is still making the rounds. It’s spawned plenty of office laughs and discussion in Flowery Branch and sparked a Facebook page demanding results.
It’s also my favorite of a lackluster group of 2010 advertisements.
Why [...]

Veteran Presence Sticking Around
When wide receiver Harry Douglas went down with a season-ending knee injury just two days into Russell Falcons Training Camp, doom and gloom could have easily replaced hope and optimism.
Behind Roddy White and Michael Jenkins the Birds had a lot of youth.
But they also had nine-year veteran Brian Finneran. Finneran, combined with the addition of [...]

Lunch Break: Special Teams Spiel
It was a year of ups and downs for the Falcons special teams, which faced injuries and intense scrutiny in the kicking game. But, things settled at the end of the season as the team cranked out three-straight wins to close the 2009 campaign.
Punter Michael Koenen and return man Eric Weems were consistent contributors and [...]

Lunch Break: Receiver Recognition
Wide receiver Roddy White made no secret of his Pro Bowl goal in 2008. He achieved it, advancing to the all-star game that seemed unlikely during his first three years in Atlanta.
Looking for an encore, White finished 2009 with a team-high 85 catches, 1,153 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns.
But no Pro Bowl.
Like other Falcons that didn’t [...]

Catching Up with Harry Douglas
Recovering from a sports injury takes equal parts hard work and heart.
Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas isn’t afraid of the workload. He’s been at the team’s Flowery Branch facility almost every weekday since the end of the 2009 season rehabilitating from a torn ACL.
Speak to him for just a few moments and you know his [...]
