Finishing a Playoff Picture
The Falcons (7-7) were eliminated from playoff contention with the Cowboys upset win over the Saints Saturday night. The team responded with a character-filled victory over the playoff-hopeful New York Jets.
The next two games down’t offer a chance to be much of a spoiler but they do give Atlanta a chance to post a back-to-back [...]

Your Week 14 Television Maps
I have a bad habit when it comes to these NFL television distribution maps.
Each week, like a child on Christmas morning, I open the links and find the games televised in Atlanta for the coming weekend. At this point I remember it doesn’t matter what games are before/after or opposite the Falcons game.
I’m working. There’s [...]

Moves on the Practice Squad
In case you got wrapped up in Monday Night Football or news the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — this week’s opponent in Atlanta — demoted defensive coordinator Jim Bates, here’s a quick update on Falcons items.
Monday evening the team announced roster moves on the practice squad, signing offensive lineman Blake Schlueter and placing center Rob Bruggeman [...]

Week 11 Television Notes (and Maps)
Time for a little behind-the-scenes info…
Each week NFL teams and their public relations departments schedule conference calls or production meetings between key coaches and players and members of the broadcast crew.
Some are longer than others. In the case of this week’s Falcons-Giants game, it may be little more than a cup of coffee and “how [...]

An NFC South Breakdown
Let’s take a look at the NFC South as the Falcons get ready for just their second division game of the year.
At first glance, the division-leading Saints have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way. New Orleans has a home game next week against the Panthers, followed by road games at currently winless [...]

Strong Arm Just One Concern
In my previous life as editor and publisher of Broncos Magazine, I wrote a story of Jay Cutler’s first day in Denver.
We chatted on the 45-minute ride from the airport to the team practice facility and I followed him through what was a momentous day in his personal — and Broncos — history.
Within minutes of [...]

Team Makes it Official with Winborn
Two days after the first reports that veteran linebacker Jamie Winborn had “agreed to terms” with the team, the Falcons signed the linebacker to a contract.
The deal was done Saturday morning before the first training camp practice. Winborn is on the field wearing No. 49.
To make room for the nine-year veteran, the team released rookie [...]

Report: Winborn Agrees to Terms
UPDATE: ProFootballTalk.com reported Friday earlier stories of Winborn “agreeing to terms” were, perhaps, premature. Click here for more.
Scout.com report the Falcons have agreed to terms with free agent linebacker Jamie Winborn. It’s a one-year deal, according to the report.
The former Vanderbilt standout has spent time with the 49ers, Buccaneers, Jaguars and Broncos during his nine-year [...]

The Mock Draft: Version 7.0
The NFL Draft is just more than two days away and speculation is in high gear.
When I first had the idea to do a series of mock drafts leading up to this epic offseason event I was ignorant to the various opinions held by the Falcons fan base.
You all opened my eyes to more possibilities [...]
