Birdseed: February 17, 2010
It’s been almost two weeks since the Super Bowl and — much to the joy of some ad executives — one commercial is still making the rounds. It’s spawned plenty of office laughs and discussion in Flowery Branch and sparked a Facebook page demanding results.
It’s also my favorite of a lackluster group of 2010 advertisements.
Why [...]

Falconcast: A Chat with D. Led
Since I started working with the Falcons in July 2007 D. Orlando Ledbetter has been a fixture in the media room.
The veteran sports writer now covers the Birds’ beat full time for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and spends his days blogging and writing features. This doesn’t stop in the offseason (something any fan of the NFL [...]

Looking for a Reason to Feel Super?
Falcons fans have 13 days to make a very tough decision but, when Super Bowl XLIV kicks off in South Florida on Feb. 7, minds must be made up.
Are you rooting for the Saints?
Atlanta and New Orleans have, perhaps, the most storied rivalry in the NFC South. Based, in part, on shared futility the Saints [...]

Lunch Break: Signal Caller Summary
BLOGGER’S NOTE: Kicking off a new semi-regular series called “Lunch Break” where you’ll be able to nibble on some quick morsels and thoughts while you nibble on a midday snack. It may be a poll. It may be a video. It may be some ramblings. But, for the next few days, it’s a look at the Falcons [...]

Falconcast: A Season Recap
It’s hard to say good bye to a season that started out with so much promise.
Before the start of the 2009 campaign national columnist and other NFL insiders were excited about the Falcons chances and building up what could have been a deep playoff run. Instead, well, we all know what happened…

Strong Finishes a New Trademark?
For a quarter-by-quarter look at the Falcons victory over the Bills, check out John Manasso’s Beat Blog. You can also get play-by-play information and stats in the NFL.com Game Center.
Three times in the 44 years of the franchise, the Falcons have had legitimate shots to recored back-to-back winning seasons. That is, they were above .500 [...]

Birdseed: December 18, 2009
Early this week Falcons players were blasted with questions about playoff chances. They care about making the playoffs — and the chance is there — but I get the feeling they don’t care much for questions about scoreboard watching and how it affects their play.
It seems like everyone forgets playing hard just to play hard. [...]
