jamaal anderson isn’t a bust, just because he didn’t have 7-10 sacks doesn’t mean he can’t get in to the backfield and pressure the qb. jamaal anderson is a very good run stopper and can help in pass support. with depth of dbs you can see where you are and understand what work best with your team. “GO FALCONS”.

travis p, hate to get on you dude, but have you been paying attention to what thomas and coach smith have been doing? they cleaned up the locker room, and got rid of the riff-raff. t.o. would do nothing but break the unbreakable matty ice’s confidence. so you just be quiet! and norwood has earned his stripes in atlanta. he didnt play that much last year so he should have fresh legs. if he gets hurt again, well we didnt sign him do a big deal, and jason snelling is dying for a chance to prove himself again. not to mention we didnt even use brown out of ga. we are good on offence. just a few pieces away fron a top 10 defence. 11th against the run last year. and we cant do any worse against the pass, so we are sitting pretty right now. you will see

We are all entitled to our opinion but some of the people posting don’t have a clue. “We haven’t had success running the ball since the Dunn Duckett years” …WTF? So now Michael Turner has been unsuccessful as a RB for the Atlanta Falcons? Are you even a Falcon fan? Do you even understand the game? Winning sells tickets anybody with half a brain knows that.

yeah Travis your right, Turner only ran for 1,699 yards in his first season here and 871 when he missed half the year…. we can’t run and TG, White, Weems (becoming one), and now Douglas are not weapons. C’mon man, think. We can run, and Matty Ice has an arm.

Norwood is still hurting from a hip injury from last year. If he is still dealing with this injury from last season I expect him to be a liability for most of the season this year as well.

Way to go birdfan6&Kushion,ezra those added DT’S & DB’S is for depth an better competition at those positions.we do rotate the d-line a lot during games to keep them fresh and u can’t have enough dbs if u watched the games last yr. with the injuries. get a little more in depth with your team if ur going to question the organizations picks.GO FALCONS!

Eric Ward will not be an converted WR as Mr. Wisdom tried to insinuate, He is a pure QB has had played QB from little leauge to now so convering him now is not even a question. He(Ward) will most likely beat out D.J. and has a good chance of beating out John Park-Wilson. Danlay Walker signing give us depth at CB and also some more ST help which is good we need more gunners, I think the Falcons are taking the right steps.

the only questionable move the Falcons made this Offseason to me was bringing back Norwood. i know its a safe one year contract but Lendale white would have been more productive and Norwood will do what he does every year . . . . get hurt. its a complete waste of valuable cap space. this is a what have you done for me lately league and Norwood hasn’t done much since the departure of Vick. michael turner and Lendale white as a one two punch with Snelling backing up the running back and full back positions would be a greater situation for four or five years to come. why have a player on your team who you don’t know will even play three games healthy. come on front office!

to ezra, did we watch the same falcons last year. anderson was a waste of a first round pick. when they moved him inside he was a little more productive. still cant hide the fact that he is a bum. brent grimes held his own. owens pretty much did the same, those guys are young and will do much better this year. houston couldnt cover a kitten entangled in a blanket. thats why he is in detroit now. lofton and peterson did the do against the run, but they need help(weatherspoon) and as much as a beast decoud is, he needs help back there. im happy with our draft. as ive said before “we can score with any team in the league, but we cant out score all of them” yall hold it down and ill see you all in dallas *championship* you heard it here first.

I continue to post this question on the Falcons website, but never get an answer. Are there more plans to use the “throwback unis’? I really like the red helmets….Is there a rule against the birds using black helmets on the road and red helmets at home??? I think that would be different and stylish.

I can answer those questions. The Falcons will wear the 1966 jerseys and uniforms for the next few years (up to twice in the regular season). They took the place of the alternate jerseys. As for two different color helmets, I don’t know of a rule against it but it would have to get approved — by the league and financially. It would be quite an expense. The Seahawks started out with two helmets in their redesign but reverted to one.

The Peria Jerry injury could be much a do about nothing. There is pain and lots of it involved in rehabilitation of a knee so the limping that was reported is par for the course. The fact that he is running and cutting on it is a good thing but I doubt if you see him before the regular season. It takes a year roughly to come back physically and then there is the mental part. Harry Douglas also won’t be seen in the preseason and Brian Williams either.

What Jerious Norwoood injured? You gotta be kidding me. I would not be surprised if Norwood did not make the cut. This is freaking mini-camp no pads, no hitting. I don’t know how severe the injury is, it looks like he miss more mini-camp than anybody else not coming off IR. I have no confidence in his ability to stay healthy. Last season everytime he took a good hit he got hurt. I believe Snelling has taken his spot on the depth chart so either he’s a 3rd string back with a one year contract and gone after this year or he hits the waiver wire this year and tries to make another team. I don’t question his ability as a KR/PR and 3rd string back. At the end of the day, he’s not a 2nd string back because he can’t carry the load if Turner goes down and he might not make it as a 3rd string back because he can’t stay healthy.

Most QB’s have good hands and with all the hands we have of the roster right now, looks like we’re going for possession type WR. The Falcons are creating depth at all positions and this creates competition. I like signing another QB and CB, no one should feel their job is safe unless earned. Even Ryan should feel pressue if he cant get the job done. I am excied and I am glad no one is talking about the Falcons as serious contenders for the title. We almost beat the Saints twice last year and we were undermanned.

I went to these practice sessions this weekend and was very pleased with what I saw. We are going to be a legiimate contender for the Championship this year. That’s hoping there are minimal injuries. I think Jenkins will have a breakout year, as will Beirman, Sidbury, and our entire secondary group. It was great to see Micheal Turner planting and cutting. Jason Snelling is an absolute beast. If we don’t get him signed someone will grab him and make him a number one. Everyone looks goob and I’m looking forward to the Dome as well as the rest of the season. I think we will have Superbowl success as well as at the least Eight probowl players. Go FALCONS!!!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!

Matty did miss a few long balls to Roddy, but remember Roddy held out and was late to camp, that took away alot of reps for those two to get thier timing down, and i dont recall Matty getting flustered or panicing too many time. he made a few mistakes butyou didnt see him repeat them.
i have a question, i see middleton in some of the spring training pics is he back on the roster, how did we steal him back?

We don’t need or want TO, hes too old, his production in Buffalo was barely zero, couldnt catch a cold and gives up on plays too easy.

Dave, White is our deep threat, he draws the double teams so we can get others open, we don’t need a flashy deep threat we need a possession reciever, we should have drafted Jordan Shipley in the 3rd when we could.

I like Marcus’ call of Kevin Curtis, between Jenkins, him and Gonzo we’d have players that can make the short catches to get us first downs, White and Douglas can stretch the field.

Sort by position and you get 1G, 2OG, 4OL,4OT, 1T
be a little more consistent
I found 8 LB and no Weatherspoon – nearly paniced- but there he was, the only OLB on the team

i agree with falcon lover. matts short range accuracy is good, but i havent seen evidence that he can lead a wideout running deep. Roddy white always has to slow down turn around and catch the ball. i hope he is working on arm strength. if you cant do that then you better be dang good in short to middle range passes, and not so many check downs. matt is a smart football player and a good guy it seems. Lets get to the playoffs this year. go falcons!!!!!!

i dont know why yall are goin so hard on grimes he was the best conerback we had down the stretch.. he is crazy athletic and a young player still learning yes he had a few touchdowns caught on him but did u see the passes they were damn near perfect as u all may know there is no defense for a perfect pass so attribute the touchdowns to a lack of pass rush. with d robinson, b williams, i love grimes as the number 3 corner….. What about Williams from Dallas? He may be looking for a home here soon. A little pricey, but may be worth renegotiating his salary. I think he would be pretty good with a fresh start. He and Romo just don’t seem to click.

I think we have a good qb on our hands, I do agree that when he gets nervous he tends to make bad decisions. He needs to work on not hitting the panic button till he is really in trouble.
