Birdseed: March 11, 2010

jmm-mkoenen031110One day, I’m going to convince people my life as a team employee is often more hectic in the offseason.

Contrary to popular belief, team bloggers don’t keep teacher hours and take an abundance of time off from March to July. Actually, this is a time players and staff alike catch up on all the things that fall to the side during the season.

It’s a time for site maintenance, intense coverage of offseason events and studying the ever-changing Internet world. Players use the time to recharge, recap the year that was and ramp up involvement in the community and charity.

Speaking of events, punter Michael Koenen will host his second-annual Dream House golf tournament April 6. Click here for more information, including how you can play.

Head Coach Mike Smith is also expected to host a golf tournament in the midst of offseason workouts, which begin in just 11 days.

Believe what I’m saying about the offseason?

Wrap your mind around it while reviewing some Birdseed.

I would like to see us upgrade the wr. Mike has proven he is not consistent. I like Roddy, Harry in the slot and I would like to see a speedster on the other side either through the draft or free agency.

I think we can get the WR help we need in round # 3 of the draft. White, Douglas, Jenkins and Booker are good for now. Jenkins probably should not be our starter.
