He’s done it again!
At his second coin toss in three years, Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff didn’t have to call heads or tails (the NFL provided a custom coin). But he got the result he wanted as Atlanta won a toss over the Houston Texans to win the No. 19 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
The last time the Falcons took part in a coin toss was the 2008 NFL Combine, when the call of “tails” resulted in the No. 3 overall selection and starting quarterback Matt Ryan.
The coin flip could prove great importance as the Falcons and Texans, according to many media types, have similar draft needs. Houston is likely to let cornerback Dunta Robinson go in free agency and could use help in the secondary.
Atlanta fans are pushing for defense to continue the building process initiated by Head Coach Mike Smith and and Dimitroff two years ago. Last season, all but one of the team’s draft picks came on the defensive side of the ball.

Thats great for us!! I can’t wait to see who we pick up in the draft because I know TD and Coach Smith will get what they know we need. One pick ahead of another don’t seem great but in the NFL draft this is huge, now we can get that defensive player we need. I don’t care which position on D I just hope its a player with awesome athletic ablity and skill. GO FALCONS, LETS BEAT THOSE SAINTS TWICE BADLY THIS YEAR!!!!
Awesome! Great news!
luck is on our side falcon fans but its our destiny2 run thru the playoffs this yr 2 the big dance!
Why were we doing a coin toss for a draft pick? I have never understood this process…but I like it since it always works out for us lol
I think that is super let’s understand that defence and o.line is soild but could use some help in free agents the front office will make moves vital to destroying the saints next year and winning our first super bowl maybe we can go back to the old symbol with black helmets next year
my praying worked great news GO FALCONS!!!
I think we should sign Dunta Robinson and then also use the 19th pick on defense. Sting the Texans twice and help us out!
to whom it may concern(Mr. Blank) i think we really need 2 good corners and another good pass rusher (Peppers) (robinson from texans) and a solid 2nd quarterback,
could it be possible that mike vick end up in atlanta??
I would love to see LT and the Burner reunite with LT in the #2 slot. It would also be great if a Snelling and Norwood package could get us Cromartie. If none of those work, could you imagine Julius Peppers and Abraham on the same D-line? Dtroff let’s let free agency determine our draft needs while the pickins are good.
PLEASE! No to Vick a Falcon again. Move on from that Please.
I think we should go out and get Anquian Bolden. Line him up opposite White. What do yall think?
i doubt we do much in free agency and i dont think we really have to as long as we have a good draft and keep everybody healthy and out of trouble we will have a great team
I WOULD LOVE TO GET ANQUIAN BOLDEN, AND BRANDON MARRSHALL TO HAVE A LONG SID ROWDY RODDY WHITE, ……. ILL KEEP DREAMING I GUEESE. HOPE EVERYTHINGS WORKS OUT FOR US THIS YEAR…. WE CAN REALLY DO SOME GOOD THINGS
we need brandon graham we need to sign duante robison if not get back into the 2nd round and draft a cb cuz the extra picks will get will be like a 3 rounds and 4 anyways
