Week 7 Television Notes

Welcome back to regional television coverage, Falcons fans. How did that Sunday Night Football game treat you?

After a prime time win over the Chicago Bears the Falcons begin a two-game stretch that features a near-national audience and a world stage on Monday Night Football. Looking ahead to the next home game against the Washington Redskins, I’m predicting a rather small television presence.

As for this week, if you’re watching in any area of the country shaded in red (nice color choice) you’ll get the Falcons-Cowboys at 4:15 ET. It’s technically not nationally televised, but the game will be called by FOX’s No. 1 crew of Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver.

If you’re looking for Joe Buck, check out the MLB playoffs.

ADDITIONAL TELEVISION NOTES (AND COMMENTS)…

… Good news for the original Mr. and Mrs. J. Mike (mom and dad). The hometown Titans are off this weekend and won’t be on TV. I hear the “bye” is favored by a touchdown. The Nashville market will get to see the Indianapolis Colts. Wonder if Jeff Fisher will be watching in his Peyton Manning jersey? Worth noting my fantasy team has just as many wins as the Titans. Bad year for Middle Tennessee.

… Just realized this week is the big London game between the Patriots and Bucs. It won’t be viewed in all U.S. markets but, considering all the travel and the hype (I’d love to be involved in that game), we could see a closer contest than predicted.

… Minnesota at Pittsburgh may be the best game of the weekend. It has the most coverage of any early kickoff game I’ve seen in a while.

… Think the people watching the New Orleans-Miami game in Maine get jealous of the weather in South Florida? I guess that region traditionally pulls for the Patriots.
