I think these are going to be a good crop of players. I am anxious to see these players in mini camp and in training camp.

Would be great if Owens could become like another CB who wore 21 for Falcons. Well like him in lock-down coverage and intangibles but actually tackle better than him.

Sidbury is the player to watch in this year. He will start as a rookie.

He won’t start. He’ll just sub-in alot. He’s a pass-rush guy who’ll come in during passing situations. 3rd downs etc. Jamaal Anderson isn’t a bust quite yet. Sidbury and Davis are our rotation guys to keep abraham and anderson fresh.

You need depth on D so you can keep a constant rotation. I think we have this.

Von Hutchins must be one big asshole… William Moore wants to wear 25 in honor of a dead former teammate and you’re a big enough prick not to give up your number?

    # 25. Anyone old enough to remmember Scott Case?

I remember Scott Case. When he played cornerback for us his nickname was “White Lightning.” I also remember Billy Lotheridge, Tommy Nobis, Cannonball Butler, Randy Johnson, Harmon Wages, Jim Mitchell, and probably others if I just sat here and kept thinking about them.

I saw the writing on the wall for Simon Fraser. I am surprised Kindal Moorehead was released instead of Jason Jefferson.

About things some of us remember concerning the Falcons of the past I have noted the Falcons have received a grade of B plus for the draft as an overall average from the pundits. If my memory is correct, the pundits gave us a B plus as an overall average for last years draft class. They said the grade could go higher or lower depending upon the play of Matt Ryan. I sure hope this is deja vu all over again.

Come On! Let the guy where a stinkin number! It’s just a number! The only difference is that the number actually means something to Willy Mo and it might actually make him put a little more effort or heart or whatever you want to call it into his play knowing that AO’s number is on his back

Nicholson was a fantastic pickup. I see him on the field a lot next year.

I think they should have Graham Harrell. Come mini camp and see if he could be a good enough backup. Also why they pick up Robbie Dehaze? over Graham Gano. Gano barely misses he has a heck of a leg.

On the subject of ’sub in’ pass rushers, i think Kroy will have a decent season on third downs rushing the passer. I was impressed with the speed and work ethic he showed last year as a situational pass rush option.

If William Morris was so interested in #25 why did he wear #1 last season? For that matter, why would anyone wear #1?

Remember our last to wear #1? Jeff George!

    @Larry
Larry, the Mizzou seniors took turns wearing #25 last season to honor Aaron O’Neal for what would have been his senior season. William Moore (not Morris) wore it for one game.

Big Nicholson fan … looking for him to have a big impact. Troy Bergeron is a great add!

i go to clemson and ive watched aaron kelly during his junior and senior year. a lot of clemson fans compare him to a marvin harrison type guy…great at stretching the field, great speed when he gets going…never drops anything. set the acc all time reception yards record. michael jenkins might be in trouble in a year or two

Hope some of these WR can step up and make an impact. The Falcons not only added so much to the defense, but also signed some great free agents for Matt Ryan to throw too and protect him.

  26. Posted April 29, 2009 at 5:40 pm | Permalink

Hate to burst your bubble. Bergeron has already been released to make room for Verron Haynes. As far as Falcons safeties, I hope W. Moore turns out to be another Tom Pridemore. Dang, I’m showing my age. If he can match Scott Case, that would be excellent also.

If you liked CASE (and I did). You will love William Middleton. Very similar as hitters.
