I Think I Know That Guy
About a week ago I was in my normal seat at a weekly staff meeting when a familiar face caught my eye. Walking up the steps on the other side of the glass wall was Eric Sutulovich.
He was chatting with Head Coach Mike Smith.
At the time I couldn’t remember his name but I knew he [...]

Roster Moves Continue
The Falcons continued tweaking the roster on Wednesday and Thursday, announcing more moves and additions of two veteran free agents.
Notably, the team added eight-year veteran Verron Haynes and released former Georgia Force wideout Troy Bergeron. On Thursday, the team added another linebacker — two-year veteran Edmond Miles.
Fans in Georgia or who follow Bulldog football likely [...]

A New Way to Watch
The Falcons expect to wrap a three-phase renovation project at the Georgia Dome in time for the 2009 preseason.
Crews are currently removing the old replay boards and replacing them with new, state-of-the art equipment. It’s the last undertaking of dome enhancements, which have included new seats, a re-designed club and suite level and a fresh [...]

Working with a New ‘Force’
Falcons staffers in Flowery Branch will soon see a familiar face return to the building.
The team announced the signing of former Georgia Force wide receiver Troy Bergeron on Tuesday, bringing the veteran back to the facility he shared with the Falcons during his days in arena football.
He was one of several roster moves the team [...]

Birdseed: April 27, 2009
Random thoughts from the back porch on the Monday after the NFL Draft…
It was a long but productive weekend for the Falcons. Now, we all take a few breaths and get ready for the difficult tasks ahead.
I chose to get a few extra hours of sleep this morning and blog from the back patio at [...]

Early Reports on UDFAs
That’s “undrafted free agents.”
Every team adds them and, sometimes, they become stars in the NFL. No matter what, they’re the underdogs everyone loves to root for.
Scout.com reports the Falcons have agreed to terms with multiple undrafted free agents including:
Clemson wide receiver Aaron Kelly
West Virginia offensive lineman Ryan Stanchek
Missouri linebacker Brock Christopher
Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson
San [...]

Birds Take Tech Lineman in Seventh
A familiar face — at least to many Atlanta sports fans — will be staying close for the start of his NFL career.
The Falcons drafted Georgia Tech defensive tackle Vance Walker with the 210th pick in the NFL Draft (seventh round).
The selection was obtained via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the draft, [...]
Adkins First Player Taken from Miami
With the third pick in the sixth round (176th overall) the Falcons selected Miami (Fla.) linebacker Spencer Adkins.
He was the first player taken from Miami in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Adkins (5-foot-11, 230 lbs.) did well at his Pro Day, running the 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds.
He was a backup middle linebacker and came into games [...]
