Former Broncos Recall Trips to Oakland
You can't leave Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum without a story. Such is the lore — and infamy — of The Black Hole.
Countless players have passed through for games against the Raiders but two Denver Broncos turned Atlanta Falcons have more than a few tales to tell.
Cornerback Domonique Foxworth and kicker Jason Elam have different perspectives on [...]

Birdseed: Oct. 30, 2008
Open locker room in exactly 35 minutes. Not much time for chit-chat. We'll have a one-on-one interview with fan questions later today along with "Ask the Coach" and some more thoughts from former Broncos about playing in the Black Hole.
Busy day in The Branch.
Now? Birdseed from Wednesday.
Veteran Gandy happy to be back in locker room, [...]

As promised, I dug through the archives and found a post I wrote about playing in Oakland. I'm on a mission this week to paint an accurate picture of one of the most interesting places to play in football. Of course, I doubt I'm the one that can sufficiently drum up hype around the [...]

Baker to Have "Minor Surgery"
Head Coach Mike Smith said left tackle Sam Baker, who will not travel to Oakland because of a hip injury, will undergo surgery tomorrow.
"Sam is going to have a minor surgical procedure tomorrow for that pain in his hip and lower back," Smith said. "We were aggressively treating the lower back and actually the hip [...]

Report: Falcons Bring Back Wayne Gandy
I'm still looking for more confirmation, including video, but NFL Network's Adam Schefter is apparently reporting the Falcons have signed veteran left tackle Wayne Gandy.
Gandy was released by the Falcons in the offseason after spending two seasons with the club. The 14-year veteran has also played for the Saints, Steelers and Rams in his four-year [...]

Baker Will Not Travel to Oakland
Rookie left tackle Sam Baker will not travel with the team to Oakland as doctors determine the best way to treat the hip injury that kept him out of Sunday's game at Philadelphia.
Head Coach Mike Smith confirmed the news Tuesday afternoon.
"We've aggressively treated it and it has not responded," Smith said. "Our medical staff suggested [...]

Brace yourselves. It's Raiders week.
Oh how I've missed this.
I've only traveled to Oakland twice in my short career but I've seen enough to develop a healthy curiosity of the organization and its fan base. Matt Moore and James Hicks don't know what they're getting into on the sideline (and I kind of want to [...]

Ah… Childhood Memories
Tuesday's lunch menu at R.D. Head Elementary School in Lilburn:
1. Soft Taco2. Chicken Sandwich3. Chef Salad4. PBJ5. Veggie Burger
But it wasn't taco day that got most of the students excited. That honor went to Falcons kicker Jason Elam, who visited as part of the NFL's Take a Player to School program.
If only the kids got [...]

Back to work bright and early this morning.
The team will be at The Branch a little later reviewing film and meeting with some members of the media. Head Coach Mike Smith is scheduled to speak at 4:20 p.m. (video to follow on AF.com).
The sting of yesterday's defeat at Philadelphia has me at a loss [...]
